Forum Health’s Medical Weight Loss Program

Weight loss can be hard as you age. Sometimes eating well and exercising is simply not enough. An estimated 45 million Americans go on a diet and spend $33 billion on weight loss products – each year.

More than 1 in 3 men (34.1%) and more than 1 in 4 women (27.5%) are overweight.

That’s why we’ve developed the Forum Health Medical Weight Loss Program using Semaglutide. Semaglutide is a medication typically used to help control blood sugar levels in patients with Type 2 diabetes, and is also being used to help people without diabetes lose weight.

What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is an injectable medication which, when used in combination with a mindful diet and exercise, helps with blood sugar control in Type 2 diabetics. It belongs to a class of medications called GLP-1 agonists, an intestinal hormone that mimics the hormone GLP-1 in your body to lower blood sugar levels after you’ve eaten a meal.

A recent study showed that adults with obesity had a mean weight loss of 14.9 percent with Semaglutide as an adjunct to lifestyle intervention.

How does Semaglutide work for weight loss?

Amanda – Forum Health employee and semaglutide patient.

Semaglutide helps control your blood sugar and assist in weight loss. GLP-1, the key hormone involved, slows down how fast your stomach empties food, which helps you feel full longer. In addition to causing your pancreas to release insulin, Semaglutide also blocks a hormone that causes your liver to release sugar. Why is this important? Together, these functions can help you feel less hungry, causing you to eat less food and lose more weight.

The Medical Weight Loss Program Includes*:

  • Your first appointment to get you set up for your program
  • 3 health coach visits to keep you on track along the way
  • Your first prescription of Semaglutide
  • 2 body composition analysis’ (1 initial; 1 at follow-up visit) so you can track your progress

How long does it take to lose weight on Semaglutide?

You can start feeling the effects of the Semaglutide at your first dose and should start experiencing weight loss within the first two weeks of your program.

Everyone’s weight loss journey looks different and how much weight you have to lose will determine the duration of your program. However, once you reach your target dose you will see the most amount of weight loss.

It is important to keep in mind that weight loss can take time, and you’ll see the best results when you are using your medication in combination with a healthy diet and exercise.
